![]() ![]() She was also a reiki master, and studying a medical profession I was understandably skeptical of this also. I have always been quite skeptical so I went in with an open mind and told her nothing about myself. I went and had a reading once by a psychic / medium that had been recommended to me. I personally do believe they exist, there's just the unfortunate fact that a large amount of dickbags out there know they can make some mad cash moneyz by using cold or hot reading to create the illusion of Mediumship and they then discredit anyone who does genuinely have this gift. He has nothing to gain from lying about it.I mean, he never even came right out and said "Oh, by the way, I'm a Medium". He didn't use his Clairvoyance and other gifts to make money, in fact, he works at a bar. He didn't dig for information and give vague answers (aka cold reading) a la John Edwards, he'd just pop up suddenly with something about you that you'd never told anyone. He would say things and know things that he couldn't possibly have known otherwise and would say these things without any kind of prompt. I've only met one Medium who I found to be incredibly impressive. Anyway, the Mediums I know for the most part fall into two categories: they have this gift, but do not want it and don't want to be considered 'weird' so they refrain from opening up about it and then there're the Mediums I've met who are open about their abilities, but aren't as strong as most people automatically imagine Mediums to be. You don't want to be taken in by a charlatan. While I'm open minded, I think it's healthy and important to remain skeptical to a certain degree. I know a small handful of Mediums who I have no doubt are genuine. Forced by data to abandon skepticism, Schwartz presents this amazing account of his groundbreaking work, compelling from first page to last.R/Paranormal provides a platform for its community, believers and skeptics alike, to discuss and share true personal paranormal experiences, evidence, thoughts, and theories. Here are the results that awed sitters and researchers alike: a revelation about a son's suicide, what a deceased father wanted to say about his last days in a coma, the transformation of a man's lifelong doubts about the afterlife, and, most amazing of all, a forecast of a beloved spouse's death. This riveting narrative, with electrifying transcripts, documents stringently monitored experiments in which mediums attempted to contact dead friends and relatives of "sitters" who were masked from view and never spoke, depriving the mediums of any cues. Schwartz asked well-known mediums to become part of a series of experiments to prove, or disprove, the existence of an afterlife. But what if a respected scientist challenged them to make contact with the beyond under controlled laboratory conditions? What if the results not only stunned a skeptical scientist but also offered astonishing answers to a timeless question: Is there life after death? John Edward, Suzane Northrup, and George Anderson are just a few of the prominent American mediums who have been accused of being frauds. ![]()
